On Thursday, 01 December 2011 at 9:55 pm police were dispatched to 329 Madison Avenue on a report of a motor vehicle accident that turned into a street fight with weapons.

When police arrived they observed people in the street fighting. After a police investigating three men were arrested. It was reported that Javier Hernandez, age 35, from Compton Avenue, and Andrew Ramos, age 40, 193 Delta Place, Brick, NJ were fighting in the middle of the street in the area of 329 Madison Avenue; two pocket knives were seized as evidence. Both men were arrested for aggravated assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose. The Honorable Judge Maria Del Valle-Koch set bail at $5000.00 no 10% option for both defendants. Another City man identified as Maurice Allen, age 29 was charged with obstruction of justice and resisting arrest.

Defendant Andrew Ramos stated he was traveling in his vehicle on Fayette Street in the area of 179 Fayette Street when he observed a vehicle double parked in front 179 Fayette Street. He attempted to drive around the vehicle and in the process the passenger side mirror of his vehicle struck the driver side mirror of the double parked vehicle, he then turned south on Madison Avenue and parked in the area of 329 Madison Avenue when he was approached by Defendant Javier Hernandez and another male. Andrew Ramos was accused of leaving the scene of the accident by the males. A verbal argument escalated to a physical fight between the three males.
