The Madison County Grand Jury convened today and handed down indictments in several different violent crimes investigations. Jerry Crawford, 27, of Jackson, was indicted for aggravated robbery in the November 6, 2010, robbery of the Circle K at 1831 U.S. 45 By-Pass. Around 2:40 a.m. Crawford entered the business, handed the store clerk a note indicating that he had a gun and wanted money. The clerk met his demands and he left the business. Forensic evidence at the scene linked Crawford to the crime. He remains in custody at the Madison County Jail on $75,000 bond.

James Casey Markham, 20, of Jackson, was indicted for attempted first degree murder, aggravated assault and possession of a weapon during the commission of a dangerous felony. On December 18, 2010, around 3:10 a.m. police were called about a shooting at a house in the 100 block of Holly Street. Shawn Clint Bolton, 34, was transported to a local hospital then later airlifted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville for gunshot wounds to the back and the back of the neck. Investigation indicated that Markham argued with Bolton after losing a pool game at a local nightclub. Shortly after arriving home, Bolton answered a knock at the door. Markham then shot him through the front door. Markham is free on $200,000 bond.

Alvin Waller, Jr. 34, of Jackson, was indicted for three counts of aggravated rape and especially aggravated kidnapping. On May 15, 2011, around 2 a.m., a 21-year-old woman was walking south on Dr. F. E. Wright Drive near Wright Industrial Cove. She was forced inside a car and taken to an alley behind Grace Baptist Church at 1646 Hwy. 70 East. Waller then raped her multiple times inside and outside of the car while an unidentified passenger held her at gunpoint. Waller is being held at the Madison County Jail on $1,000,000 bond.

Jonathon Henderson, 39, of Jackson, was indicted for two counts of rape of a child and two counts of aggravated sexual battery. His girlfriend, Jennifer Womble, 39, of Jackson, was indicted for coercion of a witness. An investigation by police and the Tennessee Department of Children's Services determined that Henderson had raped and inappropriately touched a 9-year-old girl and Womble had attempted to persuade the child to be untruthful with authorities during the investigation. Henderson is free on $75,000 bond and Womble is free on $10,000 bond.

Kadrius Davis, 20, was indicted for two counts of aggravated robbery.
