COP MOBILE volunteer, Patti, gives us insight on her first day driving around the city issued COP MOBILE vehicle

First I must say, as a volunteer for Crime Watch, COP and now COP Mobile, the feeling of serving the APD has always been rewarding, asking nothing in return, just very thankful I was able to assist the prevention and/or reduction of crime issues in the city of Arlington. Today I experienced driving the official COP Mobile auto, utilizing the gate access key, feeling I was very much appreciated as a volunteer in the capacity of assisting the most citizen friendly, deserving with great leadership, the Arlington Police Department. Since 1987 I have been involved in Crime Prevention, today this was risen to a higher level of enthusiasm, confidence and achievement I could never have expected. Thank you Arlington Police Department for giving a citizen as myself the feeling of great accomplishment to make our city a wonderful place to live, work and raise a family. J.J., my fellow COP was patrolling with me and these sentiments are from both us. We had a feeling of being recognized as serving the city and not worrying about the magnetic signs flying off, which has happened in the past. Not only this, but drivers giving obscene signs, weaving in front of you, etc., when patrolling in our own auto. This APD COP official car is a symbol demanding respect, saying, "hey, we are a part of the Arlington Police Department and proud of it".
Thank you,
Patti
