Police activity - Bedford Twp. - Daytime Home Invasion Ring.

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office is reporting the arrest of three (3) home invasion suspects in Bedford Twp. Monroe, Michigan.

On Wednesday, November 30th, 2011 at approximately 10:00am, a broadcast was put out by Monroe County Central Dispatch, for an in progress home invasion in the 14000 block of Todd Rd., Ida Twp. Sheriff’s deputies, along with Monroe County detectives responded to the scene. The Monroe County Canine Division, along with the Aviation Unit was called in to assist with an area search.

While detectives were processing the crime scene, a second home invasion, approximately one mile away, was reported by the home owner. Units responded to the 6200 block of Secor Rd., Ida Twp. and processed the scene.

During the investigation, detectives learned of a suspicious vehicle that was reported being, in the area, during the time frame of the home invasions. Investigators continued to follow-up on this lead.

At approximately 1:45 PM, a third home invasion was broadcasted, in progress, by Central Dispatch in the 4300 block of W. Temperance Rd., Whiteford Twp. At this time the homeowner was on the phone, advising the suspects were making entry into the house.

Investigators responded to the Temperance Rd. address and secured the residence. At this time detectives were canvassing the area for the suspicious suspect vehicle. Detectives observed the suspicious vehicle, from earlier in the day, occupied by three male subjects on Erie Rd. near Jackman Rd.

Detectives identified the vehicle as the same vehicle in the area of the earlier home invasions. The vehicle was stopped and all three suspects into custody. Stolen property was located on the suspects and in the vehicle, taken from one of the earlier home invasions. The suspects were transported to the Bedford Substation for interviews.

Information was obtained, from the suspects, leading to a search of a residence in the 1200 block of W. Temperance Rd. The search of the this residence revealed a large amount of stolen property including two firearms, jewelry, electronics and U.S. Currency from home invasions committed earlier in the day. At this time, these suspects are responsible for at least six (6) home invasions reported that day (November 30th, 2011). Detectives obtained further information that connects these suspects to numerous other area break-ins.

The suspects are from the following areas, male, age 29, from Temperance Michigan. Male, age 23, from Toledo Ohio. Male age 19, from Toledo Ohio.

All three suspects are being held at the Monroe County Jail awaiting arraignment on the following charges: Home Invasion 1st Degree (Occupied), Felon in possession of a firearm, Possession of a firearm in commission of a felony, Safe Breaking and Larceny of a Firearm.

The investigation is continuing by the Monroe County Detective Bureau.
