The Bonner County Sheriff’s Office investigators have noticed a spike in the number of residential burglaries, primarily in the south county region. The burglaries are occurring at various times of the day and night, some with the property owners very nearby. These appear to be random acts where the victims have no specific ties to the suspects.

The Bonner County Sheriff’s Office urges citizens who witness unusual behavior such as unknown people coming to their residences and asking strange questions. For example, “I’m looking for this person or I’m selling something.” Also, be aware of any vehicles that may be canvassing the area looking for ways to commit crimes of opportunity.
