Advisory

Police Actions Deemed Proper per Dearborn Chief of Police. See emaill or web message for further.

Dearborn, Mi.— Dearborn Police Chief Ronald Haddad has thoroughly reviewed the circumstances leading to the arrest of Mr. Ali Hammoud on Friday, November 11, 2011. Chief Haddad has concluded that the actions of his officers were professional, courteous, and were in accordance with departmental procedures.
Chief Haddad stated, Mr. Hammoud is not the target of any Dearborn Police investigation. Dearborn Officers became aware of the Federal arrest warrant during an inquiry pertaining to a different investigation, unrelated to Mr. Hammoud. The information in the arrest warrant listed a name, address, Michigan Drivers License Number, physical description, and other personal information that all matched Mr. Hammoud. “My officers arrested the man listed in the LEIN system as wanted by Federal Authorities”.
Chief Haddad reiterated that while this situation is unfortunate, he is confident that Federal Authorities will facilitate further disposition in this matter later today.
