SBPD OpEmail - "Water Testing"

The Saddle Brook Police Department has received reports that several residents have received “Water Testing Kits” hanging on their doors. The kit includes a plastic bottle and a questionnaire and asks you to hang it back on your door for pickup The company address is in Ridgefield, NJ. These water test kits are a solicitation from a private company and have nothing to do with nor have they received any authorization from the Township of Saddle Brook, Bergen County or United Water. On the bottom of the questionnaire it states that the company is “not affiliated with the city water or county health department” and that your response “may result in a review of our (the company’s) environmental products”. It appears as if they are trying to ultimately get you to purchase some type of water purification or filtering system. We are advising residents that this is a private solicitation for a commercial product(s) and has nothing to do with the Township or the Water Department.

The Township of Saddle Brook tests its water on a regular basis as required by law and will notify residents if there are any issues regarding water quality as it relates to the required standards.
