The Outdoor Warning Siren test will be held on Monday, November 7, 2011 at 11 AM. Please update your kits for the winter months.
The monthly Outdoor Warning Siren TEST for the City of Saint Louis will be conducted on Monday, November 7th. This TEST is conducted on the first Monday of each month at 11:00 AM.
Please use this test as an opportunity to ensure that your preparedness kits include items that may be necessary for the winter months. Some items you may wish to include are blankets and coats.
What is the Outdoor Warning Siren for?
The City’s Outdoor Warning Siren is designed to alert residents and visitors of Saint Louis about possible danger.
What if I hear the Outdoor Warning Siren at another time?
If you hear the siren at a time other than its regular test on the first Monday of the month at 11 AM:
• Stop what you are doing and go indoors.
• Stay calm.
• Turn on your NOAA Weather radio or television, for important information provided by the City.
Please note: On rare occasion, special tests are done at times other than the usual test - we will make every effort to inform the public of the date and time before these tests occur.
You can help improve the Outdoor Warning Siren!
Please report the performance of your siren to the City Emergency Management Agency by phone 314-622-3501 extension 1 or email [email protected]. Please be prepared to give us your approximate location and whether or not you heard the siren. Your assistance helps us ensure that the system is ready when the real event happens. Please remember, this is an Outdoor Warning Siren and is not meant to be heard indoors.
Be Prepared!
Please review your personal / family / office emergency plans. Make sure that you have a NOAA Weather Radio to stay up to date on all National Weather Service Watches and Warnings.
Thank you!
