MEDIA RELEASE 10/25/11 BANK ROBBERY IN TEWKSBURY for further details: http://tinyurl.com/65r2q3q

Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns, III announced that one person of interest is being questioned in connection with an armed bank robbery that occurred today in the Oldwick section of Tewksbury Township.
Prosecutor Kearns stated, “At 2:24 PM today, a black male entered the PNC Bank on Lamington Road near the intersection of Route 523 and passed a note demanding cash. The bank is located next to Melick’s Farm Stand. The note passed by the suspect stated that he had a weapon, but at his time, it does not appear that one was shown. The suspect was seen leaving the scene in a small silver car.”
The Prosecutor added, “Police Dispatchers then broadcast the description of the suspect and vehicle over the statewide police emergency network. Bernards Township Police saw a vehicle matching the description on Route 78 and subsequently initiated a traffic stop a short while later. A person of interest is currently being questioned by Detectives of the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit.”
This is a developing story. More details will be released as the investigation progresses. Anyone with information should contact the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office at 908-788-1129.
Questions can be submitted to the Prosecutor via fax to 908-806-4618.
