Advisory

Bonner County Sheriff's Office advises citizens to be aware of suspicious persons/vehicles in your neighborhoods.

WARNING TO BONNER COUNTY RESIDENTS

The Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a large spike in the number of daytime burglaries over the past couple of months. Unfortunately, this trend seems to be moving northward to Bonner County.

Most of the recent burglaries have occurred during the daytime hours, while no one is at home, where a door has been forced open and easily carried items have been removed.

The Bonner County Sheriff’s Office notes that suspects are reported to be checking out residences by knocking on doors and offering to sell the home occupants either firewood or offering to walk dogs.

Get to know your neighbors and watch out for each other. Keep your doors and windows locked and lock your vehicles. Anyone who observes suspicious vehicles or persons in their neighborhood should contact the Bonner County Dispatch at their non-emergency number at (208) 265-5525 or dial 911 for emergencies.
