RARITAN TOWNSHIP MAN ARRESTED GROWING MARIJUANA IN HUNTERDON COUNTY
Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns, III announces the arrest of a Raritan Township man for growing and distributing marijuana. The three month investigation was conducted by members of the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office Gangs, Guns, and Narcotics Task Force and the Raritan Township Police Department.
Arrested was Joseph S. Nastasi, age 55, of Old York Road in Raritan Township. Detectives executed a search warrant at Nastasi’s residence and seized approximately one pound of marijuana packaged for sale and approximately one half ounce of psilocybin mushrooms. The street value of the drugs is estimated at $20,000.
Nastasi was charged with Possession of Marijuana with the Intent to Distribute (3rd degree) and Possession of psilocybin mushrooms (3rd degree). He was released on his own recognizance pending his first court appearance.
The filing of a criminal complaint is merely a step in the criminal justice process. The defendant is presumed innocent until the matter is resolved in a court of law.
