Report taken on 10-11-2011
Check Fraud (11-8982)
1800 block of Galaxy Drive - An unknown suspect took the victim’s outgoing mail which contained bills and checks. The suspect then cashed the checks fraudulently.
Grand Theft from Vehicle (11-9061) SUSPECT ARRESTED
Occurred between 10-12-2011 and 10-13-2011
1300 block of Galaxy Drive – An unknown suspect entered the victim’s UNLOCKED vehicle and took a laptop computer, DVD drive, cables, briefcase and paperwork.
Residential Burglary (11-9055)
Occurred on 10-13-2011 between 8:00 a.m. and 5:45 p.m.
1700 block of Skylark Lane – An unknown suspect used a HIDDEN KEY to enter the victim’s residence. Once inside, the suspect took a jewelry box and several pieces of jewelry and fled in an unknown direction. No suspects seen or heard.
Petty Theft from Vehicle (11-9133)
Occurred between 10-16-2011 and 10-17-2011
1900 block of Tradewinds Lane – An unknown suspect entered the victim’s UNLOCKED vehicle and took a wallet containing credit cards and cash from the glove compartment.
HOME SECURITY TIPS:
- Close and lock ALL doors and windows when you leave home.
- Use deadbolt locks on all exterior doors and install a security strike plate to the door frame with a minimum of two, three inch screws.
- Sliding doors and windows should have a wooden dowel placed in the track as a second layer of defense.
- If you must hide a spare key outside, don’t hide it near your front door or were someone can see you retrieve it.
- If you have an alarm, use it!
VEHICLE SECURITY TIPS:
-Remove all valuable from plain sight or hide them prior to arriving at your destination.
-Always lock your vehicle and activate your alarm.
