The Oconee County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s assistance in identifying and locating a person of interest.

The suspect is described as a white male in his late 30s or early 40s. He is either balding or has very short hair and with a large build. He was last seen wearing a blue pull over and khaki shorts with a red bandana on his head. He has hairy legs and at last sighting was not clean shaven.

He is believed to be driving an older cream colored or tan Mercedes with a black top. A picture of the approximate year model and body style is attached for reference.

On Monday, October 17, 2011, the complainant noticed a vehicle pull in behind her in the Butler’s Crossing area almost causing a wreck. The vehicle followed her to the area of her residence in the Parker Creek Road area. That vehicle drove slowly past her residence. In the mid-afternoon on October 18, 2011, she noticed the same vehicle drive past her residence again. On the morning of October 19, 2011, she saw the above described male standing behind a tree in her backyard. She saw in leave the area in the above described vehicle.

The deputy that met with the complainant recalls seeing a Mercedes driven by a large framed male in that general area prior to meeting with the complainant.

Sheriff Berry and several deputies maintained surveillance of the residence overnight.
