Aggravated Assault

On Saturday, 15 October 2011 at 2:11 pm a victim came to the police station and reported that he was assaulted by a black Hispanic male, 5'-11", 240 lbs, wearing grey sweat pants and a black zipper jacket, at the CITGO Gas Station on New Brunswick Avenue.

Victim claims that he got into an argument with the suspect when he attempted to pull in the station to get gas. The suspect’s vehicle was in front and would not move to let him in. Both men then entered into a verbal argument when the suspect reached in his vehicle, pulled out a metal rod and struck victim over the head with it causing a laceration on his head. Suspect then fled scene in his vehicle. Victim then responded to HQ to report incident.

Victim reported that his wife and son witnessed the argument and assault. While at HQ, police officer Arcadio Rivera located suspect’s vehicle along with the suspect and weapon in the area of Market Street and Davidson Avenue. Suspect was positivity identified a short time later by the victim.

Suspect Mario Marte-Jorge is charged with Aggravated Assault and Possession of a Weapon. Bail was set at $25,000.00 no 10% by the Honorable Municipal Court Judge George Boyd.

Metal Rod was recovered by Officer Arcadio Rivera Jr.
