Early morning shooter is now in custody.

Leon Freeman is now in custody. Mr. Freeman was wanted in conjunction with the early morning shooting that took place at the Elks club in Ypsilanti township. The original post details are listed below. Thank you to all that sent tips and passed this along.

During the early morning hours (2:00am) of October 8, 2011, the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call of shots fired in the 1400 block of Ecorse Rd. (Elks Club) in Ypsilanti Township. It is unclear at this time what prompted the altercation, but the investigation remains active.

As deputies arrived on scene St. Joseph Hospital reported 3 gun shot victims had arrived in the emergency room. The extent of their injuries is unknown at this time, but all are expected to survive. Upon arriving on scene deputies were able to identify and apprehend one of the shooters, but are looking for the publics assistance in locating a second person of interest.

Leon Freeman, 25 years of age is wanted in conjunction with this incident.
