Goethals Bridge
Traffic Diversion
Friday September 30th 10:00 pm into
Saturday, October 1st 6:00 am
On Friday September 30th, starting at 10:00 pm until 6:00 am Saturday morning, customers traveling from Staten Island to New Jersey via the Goethals Bridge on 278 West will encounter a traffic diversion.
Route 278 West will be reduced from two lanes to one lane approaching the Goethals Bridge. Traffic will be diverted to Goethals Road North (service road) at the last off-ramp (Western Avenue exit) before the Administration Building and then re-routed back onto the Goethals Bridge from Goethals Road North.
This work is weather dependent and will not be performed if there is heavy rain.
Traffic impact is expected to be minimal.
