PROTECT YOUR VEHICLE. Residents are reminded to keep their vehicles secure and valuables out of the vehicle.
. The Dearborn Police Department would like to remind residents of the following vehicle safety tips:
o Remember to keep your vehicle locked and windows rolled up even if the vehicle is parked in your driveway or in front of your home.
o Park your vehicle in your garage or in your driveway whenever possible.
o Do not leave valuables (GPS Units, MP3 Players, laptops, money, etc) visible in your vehicle. If possible, remove all valuables from your vehicle.
o Never leave any personal information in your vehicle such as vehicle title, registration, or insurance.
o Residents should avoid leaving their vehicles running unattended even for a short period.
o Be aware of your surroundings & trust your instincts
o Watch out for your neighbors
o Report any suspicious people or cars in your neighborhood to the police
o Examples of suspicious activity may include:
Vehicles that do not belong in the area
Vehicles that are observed circling the area
People on foot who are not familiar to you
People who are observed looking into vehicles or attempting to open vehicles
o Report all Suspicious Activity Anonymously to (313) 943-3030, "If you see something say something"
o Notify your friends, family and neighbors of these crime prevention tips and remind them to sign up for NIXLE Alerts.
