BOXBOROUGH, MA – On September 24 at approximately 10:44 AM, Patrolman Nathan BOWOLICK was on patrol when he observed a vehicle with an expired inspection sticker. A check of the vehicle’s registration showed that is was suspended.
He stopped the vehicle and detected a strong odor of alcoholic beverages coming from the driver. He also saw an open beer bottle of beer on the passenger seat. The driver did not have any identification with him. He gave the officer a name for which no records could be found.
The driver failed a field sobriety test and was arrested. He was transported to the Littleton Police station where his fingerprints were entered into the Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS).
The result showed the driver’s true name was Eduardo Alementa TORRES, 48, of 13 Cross St., Apt. #3 in Marlborough, MA. TORRES submitted to a breath test, the result was .09%.
Further investigation revealed that TORRES was a previously deported fugitive. He was wanted by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
