* AT 1050 AM EDT NATIONAL WEATHER SERVICE DOPPLER RADAR
INDICATED OVER ONE INCH OF RAIN HAS FALLEN OVER PORTIONS OF
SOUTHEAST PENNSYLVANIA AND CENTRAL NEW JERSEY SINCE EARLY
FRIDAY MORNING. GIVEN THE ALREADY WET CONDITIONS...THE
RAINFALL RUNOFF PROCESS IS VERY EFFICIENT. WITH MORE RAIN IN
ON THE WAY...STREET FLOODING AND PONDING OF WATER IN AREAS
OF POOR DRAINAGE CAN BE EXPECTED TODAY WHEREVER THE HEAVIEST RAIN
HAPPENS TO FALL.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

EXCESSIVE RUNOFF FROM HEAVY RAINFALL WILL CAUSE ELEVATED LEVELS ON
SMALL CREEKS AND STREAMS...AND PONDING OF WATER IN URBAN AREAS...
HIGHWAYS...STREETS AND UNDERPASSES AS WELL AS OTHER POOR DRAINAGE
AREAS AND LOW LYING SPOTS.

DO NOT DRIVE YOUR VEHICLE INTO AREAS WHERE THE WATER COVERS THE
ROADWAY. THE WATER DEPTH MAY BE TOO GREAT TO ALLOW YOUR CAR TO CROSS
SAFELY.

A FLOOD ADVISORY MEANS RIVER OR STREAM FLOWS ARE ELEVATED OR PONDING
OF WATER IN URBAN OR OTHER AREAS IS OCCURRING OR IS EXPECTED.

* PERIODS OF RAIN AND ISOLATED THUNDERSTORMS WILL OCCUR TODAY INTO
A PORTION OF SATURDAY. WIDESPREAD 1 TO 3 INCH RAINS ARE EXPECTED
AND ISOLATED 5 INCH AMOUNTS ARE POSSIBLE.

* THE GROUND REMAINS SOGGY AND WET FROM THE HEAVY RAINS THAT
OCCURRED EARLIER THIS MONTH, AND THERE IS LIMITED ABSORPTION
CAPACITY FROM THE INTERSTATE 95 CORRIDOR THROUGH NORTHERN NEW
JERSEY AND EASTERN PENNSYLVANIA.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A FLOOD WATCH MEANS THERE IS A POTENTIAL FOR FLOODING BASED ON
CURRENT FORECASTS.

YOU SHOULD MONITOR LATER FORECASTS AND BE ALERT FOR POSSIBLE
FLOOD WARNINGS. THOSE LIVING IN AREAS PRONE TO FLOODING SHOULD BE
PREPARED TO TAKE ACTION SHOULD FLOODING DEVELOP.
