Grant Co. officer killed in crash 
GRANT COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) - A Grant County Sheriff’s officer was killed in an early morning crash on Sunday.
Around 12:20 a.m. officers from the Indiana State Police and the Grant County Sheriff’s Department responded to a two-vehicle crash on County Road 950 East just North of State Road 26.
A preliminary investigation shows Matthew Swain, 41 of Fairmount, IN was driving a 1970’s Chevrolet Camaro southbound on County Road 950. His Camaro crossed the center line and struck a northbound car head on.
Swain was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident and was ejected from his car. Swain died at the scene from his injuries. He was off duty at the time of the crash.
The driver of the other car, Aubrie Wickham, 24 of Marion, IN was transported by Samaritan helicopter to Lutheran Hospital. She sustained broken bones and a head injury.
The crash is still under investigation.
