FEMA inspection teams have initiated residential inspections under the INDIVIDUALS and HOUSEHOLDS PROGRAM (IHP) within the Township today, Wed. Sept. 7, 2011. The inspectors are under contract with FEMA to inspect the damages to home and personal property caused by Hurricane Irene storm disaster.

The inspectors will complete an online report of the damages. Be ready to provide the inspectors with the following information:
Drivers License or recent utility bill establishing residency of the household
Homeowners and any applicable Flood Insurance coverage, including name of Insurance Company, policy number and name and tel. contact number of insurance agent
medical health coverage information including name of insurance company and policy number
The Inspectors will make technical calculations of the damages including the height of the flooded areas.

The applicant will be asked to sign an electronic DECLARATION & RELEASE form which will authorize FEMA to verify and/or confirm the information you provided during the initial application and current inspection with the appropriate custodian of records.

Based upon the inspection and information you provided when you registered, FEMA will determine your eligibility for assistance.

Some time after the inspection, one or more letters from FEMA will be mailed to you to notify you of any assistance or other determination. These letters will explain your eligibility for any FEMA assistance and/or grant, as well as the amount and how to use the funds that may be provided.
