FEMA DISASTER DECLARATION DR-4021 (NJ)
FEMA DISASTER RELIEF APPLICATION BEGINS 09/01/2011
President Barack Obama declared Bergen County, NJ a disaster area on August 31, 2011 from the Hurricane Irene Storm.
Affected residents and businesses may be eligible for financial assistance including federal grants for temporary housing and home repairs and/or low interest loans for uninsured or underinsured property losses.
Residents and business owners who sustained losses can immediately begin applying for financial assistance as follows:
• Call 1-800-621-3362 (TTY-1-800-525-0321) NOTE: Toll free telephone registration will operate 7 days a week from 8am-10pm until further notice
• On-line web-site www.disasterassistance.gov
When registering, be prepared to provide information to include the following:
• Name
• address
• telephone number
• date of birth
• total gross household income
• type of property insurance coverage
• other information to substantiate property losses
NOTE: Have a pen and paper ready to record your unique registration number and other relevant information
