Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns, III, and Somerset County Sheriff Frank Provenzano announced the arrest of one individual as the result of a joint investigation conducted by Detectives from the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit, the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office, the Brick Township Police Department, the Readington Township Police Department and the Hunterdon County S.W.A.T Team.

Charges:
Distribution of Child Pornography second degree
Possession of Child Pornography fourth degree
The Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victim’s Unit / Internet Crimes Against Children, in conjunction with the above listed law enforcement agencies conducted this investigation. James Collins was found to have possessed and distributed child pornography. These crimes occurred while the suspect resided in Readington Township, New Jersey.
Defendant was remanded to the Hunterdon County Jail in lieu of bail set at $100,000 full by Superior Court Judge Stephen B. Rubin. This investigation is ongoing and anyone with additional information is requested to contact the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victim’s Unit at 908-788-1129.

If found guilty at trial, the defendant could be exposed to 5-10 years in a state prison for the 2nd degree charge and up to 18 months in state prison on the 4th degree charge.
