Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns, III and Chief John J. Kuczynski announced today that seven interns were signed on to work in the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office.
This summer internship program is geared towards fostering an interest in future careers in both law and law enforcement. Throughout the summer, these interns will gain valuable experience and knowledge in a wide variety of fields related to the criminal justice system. The fields include crime scene investigation, evidence processing, police procedures, legal research, and court proceedings. These interns are being mentored by and assisting the entire staff from the Detectives to the Assistant Prosecutors.
These seven interns are all current undergraduate students attending various universities and are planning to continue their education and future careers in the criminal justice system. There are two seniors, two juniors, and three sophomores.
Tim Prosky is a senior attending the University of South Carolina majoring in accounting, he is looking to attend law school upon graduation. Tim feels this opportunity gives him a great deal of experience in a wide range of different legal fields.
Jess Lane is a senior attending The College of New Jersey with a major in Criminology. Jess is hoping to become a police officer and eventually become a detective. She is looking forward to learning the intricacies of the law enforcement system here at the Prosecutor’s Office.
Curtis Wiant is a junior attending Penn State University majoring in Political Science. Curtis hopes to attend law school one day and is excited about the opportunity this internship provides to learn about the legal side of the justice system.
Shannon Harrington is a junior attending Rider University, she has received her associate’s degree in Criminal Justice. She is currently pursuing her bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Criminal Law. Shannon hopes to one day join the law enforcement community and is eager to learn more about police procedure while working next to the detectives here at the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office.
Paul Witko is a sophomore attending Boston College with a major in Economics and minor in Mathematics. Paul is unsure about his future but is excited to learn about the legal system and experience a professional setting here at the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office.
Casie Nickel is a sophomore attending Post University with a major in Criminal Justice. In the future, Casie hopes to be a New Jersey State Trooper and eventually become a homicide detective. She is enjoying the opportunity to work out in the field with current detectives and officers.
Sam Goodwin is a sophomore attending Tufts University with a major in Political Science and is planning to attend law school in the future. Sam has an interest in the legal field and is excited about the wealth of experience this internship will provide.
