Hunterdon County Prosecutor Anthony P. Kearns, III announced the arrest of DREW E. DIORIO, 25, of Bridgewater Township.
On Friday, June 24, 2011, at approximately 10:30 pm, the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office CHAIN (County of Hunterdon Anticrime Initiative into Narcotics) Team arrested DREW E. DIORIO, 25, of Bridgewater Township.
During a surveillance operation in Raritan Township, DIORIO approached an occupied, unmarked police vehicle. He was observed by two police officers as he leaned on the hood of their police car and snorted suspected cocaine from a small plastic bag.
DIORIO was apprehended by the two officers who witnessed the incident after a brief foot chase. The small plastic bag containing suspected cocaine was recovered by the two officers. DIORIO was turned over to Det. R. Landolina of the Raritan Township Police Department and charged with third degree possession of cocaine, resisting arrest and obstruction of justice. DIORIO was later released on his own recognizance.
The filing of a criminal complaint is merely a step in the criminal justice process. The defendant is presumed innocent until the matter is resolved in a court of law.

In this particular operation, the team worked in Raritan Township, assisted by the Town of Clinton and Readington. A previous operation resulted in arrests in the Town of Clinton where a juvenile was being utilized to traffic narcotics.
