Alert

For current road closures in Denville go to denvillenj.org

Please understand that the flooding experienced by the Township of Denville and the entire State of New Jersey is record setting. We are going to get you the most up to date information possible.
Road closures can be found at www.denvillenj.org. We will attempt to update it every hour and will indicate the date and time at the top of the update. Understand that even though your road may be open, there are possibly roads still impassable that will prevent you access to your home.
Right now, we do not anticipate being able to open Rt 46 in Denville in either direction until late this evening or even later. That is preventing most people from accessing most locations affected by flooding.
The water will take longer than normal to recede due to the significant amount of flooding. The fire department will begin to perform "Pump Outs" immediately. They will only pump out houses that are no longer taking on water and are accessible by their equipment. You can call 973-627-4900 ext.9 to get on a list for the pump out. Please be patient and understand that many residents are affected by the flooding and that many may be in much worse condition than you. Some homes have been completed destroyed from water or trees falling.
Please dial 9-1-1 in emergencies only. Call the Denville Police at 973-627-4900 ext.9 for police related matters. Understand that our police dispatchers are being inundated with phone calls and you may not get through.
Thank you.
