A break on a water service line along Richmond Ave. has caused a pressure drop in this area requiring a Boil Advisory to be issued. 6 residents in this area which are affected by this Boil Advisory will receive door hangers and/or a phone call. Water service should be restored to customers within 4 hours.
University campus and hospital is NOT affected.
Residents in the affected area should: 1) Boil water for three minutes prior to using it for cooking or drinking. 2) Not consume ice from an automatic ice maker. Remake ice with water that has been boiled for three minutes. 3) Disinfect affected dishes and food contact surfaces by immersing for one minute in clean tap water that contains one teaspoon of unscented bleach per gallon of water.
