Potomac Edison Schedules Power Outage in Downtown Frederick
A planned power outage schedule by Potomac Edison will take place on July 31st and August 1st as part of their fuse canister replacement project in the downtown area. The outage is scheduled to begin at 10:00 PM on Sunday, July 31st and continuing to approximately 8:00 AM on Monday, August 1st. Potomac Edison worked closely with The City of Frederick to schedule a time that would have the least impact on downtown businesses, traffic signals and parking decks.
The outage will affect an additional 115 customers (to be notified with door hangers) at the following locations:
o First block of North Court St.
o First block of West Church St.
o First block of North Market St.
o First block of West Patrick St. (including the Francis Scott Key Hotel and Apartments)
o The Tasting Room and Firestone's at the corner of North Market and West Church St.
Frederick City Police and Emergency Services are aware of the scheduled power outages and will coordinate logistics accordingly.
This major infrastructure project is scheduled to be completed before the end of the year.
