Benicia Police Release Photo of Suspected Wells Fargo Bank Robber

Attached is a photograph of the person suspected of robbing Benicia's Wells Fargo Bank last Friday (see the press release below). Again, anyone who thinks they recognize the subject are asked to call Sgt. Scott Przekurat or Crime Stoppers (numbers are below).

Benicia's Wells Fargo bank on Southampton Road was robbed by a lone suspect who displayed a handgun before running off with an undisclosed amount of cash Friday evening.

Benicia police responded to the reported robbery just before 7 pm. Police checked the area but could not find the suspect, described as a black male, 25 - 30 years old, short to medium height, with a goatee. Police will be obtaining photograph's of the suspect for future release.

The gunman entered the Raley's Supermarket, which houses the Wells Fargo branch, approached the clerk and demanded money after making threats and displaying the handgun.

This is Benicia third bank robbery of the year, and the second at Wells Fargo. The bank was robbed on March 15, 2011. Benicia police are continuing their investigation and will be working with the FBI to solve this robbery.
