On 6/17/11 at approximately 7:50 pm, Walnut Creek PD got several calls of a man brandishing a gun in a restaurant at 1372 Locust Street (Cinco de Mayo). Arriving officers contacted witnesses who provided a description of the suspect who they said left on foot. Numerous witnesses said the man walked into the busy restaurant and pointed the gun at several employees while yelling at them in Spanish. A few minutes later an officer saw a subject matching the suspect’s description at the corner of Locust Street and Cypress Street. Officers detained the man at gunpoint and located a realistic looking replica handgun on his person. Witnesses also identified the man who was later determined to be Prado. Prado was arrested for exhibiting/brandishing a firearm, making terrorist threats and for being in possession of a fraudulent state identification card.
