SMPD Homicide Investigation - UPDATE

On Tuesday June 7th, at 1:30 PM, SMPD Officers responded to a request for assistance by Paramedics on scene at All American Self Storage, 2000 E. Third Ave. Paramedics had responded to a medical call at that location to discover the victim, who was deceased and appeared to be the victim of a stabbing. SMPD immediately initiated a Homicide investigation, and detectives are still utilizing all available resources to pursue this case. Detectives have put several pieces of the puzzle together and are again asking for the community’s help.

Based on the initial information on this call, detectives have established that the original call for service was an “unknown medical" call for paramedics. Responding SMFD Personnel immediately recognized evidence of foul play, and requested immediate police assistance. Detectives know that one of the parties involved in this case had a storage unit at All American, and the purpose of their presence on site was related to the storage unit. Although some video footage was available, detectives are still reviewing and evaluating the video evidence, and it remains part of the active investigation. Detectives have determined that this was an isolated incident, and that although this was not a “targeted” act on victim Justin Lockwood, there is sufficient investigative information to lead detectives to believe that this was not a random act of violence.

SMPD is committed to pursuing all available leads and avenues of investigation in this case. If anyone has any information pertinent to this case, SMPD wants to know about it. Please contact our Detectives through any of the following means:
