The Peabody Police Department encountered a rougue paving contractor in West Peabody on Monday. These contractors, commonly referred to as gypsies, go door to door offering special pricing on driveway repairs based on leftover product from other jobs. The material is generally subpar, and the workmanship is shoddy at best. They will also try to inflate from the original price. If you encounter any door to door paving, or home improvement contractors, contact the police department, and if you can safely do so, make note of the markings on the trucks and the license plates.
