Shots Fired Call

On Tuesday, 05/03/2011 at 12:35 am, police responded to the area of 271 King St. on a report of shots fired. After a police investigation spent shell casings were recovered.

Burglary

On Monday, 05/02/2011 at 8:015 pm police were detailed to 559 Penn St. for a burglary report. Victim stated that on this date, between 7:20 am and 5:15 pm unknown suspects moved two window decorations she had hanging on the living room window. Upon checking further she found her rear window was unlocked and partially raised a few inches. At this time she found that her HP laptop and its charger were missing from a coffee table in the living room. Victim called the police at this time.

Theft

On Tuesday, 05/02/2011 at 6:28 pm police were dispatched to Washington Park on a report of a theft. Victim reported that he was at Washington Park at approximately 6:00 pm when he was approached by a male by the restrooms. The male told him to give him his bike or whatever he had in his pockets. Victim became frightened and gave him $6.00. The suspect then fled on foot west on Washington St. towards Colgate Ave. At that time Victim rode his bicycle home and reported the incident.

Description given of the suspect was a dark skinned male, approximately 19 or 20 years of age, wearing dark blue jeans and a white T-shirt.

Criminal Mischief

On Tuesday, 05/02/2011 at 1:24 pm police were dispatched to 565 Lee St on a report of Criminal Mischief. A Public Works Supervisor found the basketball rim bent and lying on the ground at the basketball courts on Lee St. No suspect(s) at this time.

Burglary

On Monday, 05/02/2011 at 1:41 pm police were detailed to 599 Amboy Ave on a report of a burglary in progress. Victim reported that she was sitting in the living room feeding her baby when she heard some tapping on the window, the blinds were down but she did observed a short Hispanic male wearing a tan baseball cap attempting to open both windows located on the South side of the building between 599 and 597 Amboy Ave.

Victim then said that as she walked to the kitchen to get a better look, a short Hispanic male opened the bedroom door by the kitchen and ran back when he saw her. Victim grabbed her son and ran to her bedroom locked the door then called the Police.

Suspect was a Hispanic male possible a teenager 5-06" wearing a tan baseball cap and blue jean shorts.

Suspect Arrested

On Tuesday, 05/03/2011 at 1:15 pm. police were detailed to the area of Washington St. and State St. on a report of three suspicious males, one possibly being the suspect to a robbery. Victim stated she had seen a male suspect who had snatched her gold chain from her neck a week ago. Victim had pointed out the three suspicious males. After a police investigation Marcus Woods, age 32, of 365 High St was arrested.

Woods was charged with Robbery and bail was set by the Honorable Judge James Newman at $1,000.00. Woods also had an outstanding warrant out of Hightstown.
