HUNDREDS OF VOLUNTEERS TO PARTICIPATE IN FRESNO’S REGIONAL PARK ‘GO GREEN & CLEAN’ EVENT


WHAT: Fresno PARCS has been working closely with organizers from Mormon Helping Hands to coordinate a massive “Spring into Action” effort at Roeding and Woodward Parks this Saturday. The national day of service for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints aligned perfectly with Mayor Swearengin’s Serve Fresno “Go Green & Clean” Campaign which coordinates volunteer clean-ups at various parks in Fresno each Saturday.

More than 1,200 volunteers are expected at Roeding Park and another 400 at Woodward Park for this massive effort.

WHEN: Saturday, April 30 - 7 a.m. until Noon
Roeding volunteers will hear from City Manager Mark Scott at 11:00am near Olive Ave. entrance playground, across from Maple Grove picnic shelter.

WHO: Hundreds of volunteers from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints will join Cornerstone Church and community members to participate in the annual “Mormon Helping Hands Community Day of Service”

WHERE: Roeding Regional Park, 890 W. Belmont Ave. (location of 11am celebration)
