Agencies Involved: Ventura City FD, Ventura County FD, Santa Paula FD, American Medical Response

Damage Estimate: $15,000 to structure, $10,000 to contents

Fire Protection Systems Present: None

Narrative: Ventura City Firefighters responded to a report of a structure fire in a residence in the 100 block of N. Garden St. First arriving units encountered a fire to the rear of the home, which was rapidly spreading from a service porch into the house. Aggressive actions by firefighters quickly controlled the fire preventing further damage. Two female residents were in the home at the time of the fire and were able to safely get out of the house on their own before the arrival of the fire department. No injuries were reported and the cause is currently under investigation. The two residents were displaced by the fire due to smoke and water damage and were assisted by family members at the scene.
