Benicia Police to Participate in County Wide Youth Summit May 11th.

The Benicia Police Department will be participating in the upcoming Youth Summit on May 11th hosted by the Solano County District Attorney's Office.

"We are in full support of District Attorney Don du Bain's effort to provide a coordinated county wide effort to reducing crime by reducing truancy," Benicia Police Chief Andrew Bidou said. "The Benicia Police Department is committed to lowering truancy. This commitment has been demonstrated through our active partnership with the Benicia Unified School District and the enactment of our local Youth Protection ordinance. This ordinance helps our officers address truancy issues if they find students off school grounds when they should be in school. Various members of the department, including myself, will attend the upcoming summit."
