Criminal Activity Highlights for the week of 03/28/11 to 04/03/11

1603 hrs

Subject(s) sprayed the hood and passenger side of a vehicle parked in the 1100 block of Raven Avenue. Subject(s) used a sticky varnish substance that appeared as if it was shaken off the end of a paint brush. The owner of the vehicle was able to remove the substance with rubbing alcohol and water; there was no damage to the vehicle.

1353 hrs

A suitcase, bicycle, umbrella and miscellaneous cushions were removed from the ground in front of a garage in the 200 block of Morningside Drive. The resident was in the process of moving and had placed the items outside while getting things ready for the move. The estimated value of items taken is $900.00.

1525 hrs

A resident from the 10 block of Fairway Dr returned home from vacation to find her 1995 Nissan Pathfinder SUV valued at $4,000 missing. A record check showed it had been recovered by the City of Miami Police Dept several days prior. The vehicle had been abandoned after having been involved in a hit and run accident.

1816 hrs

A resident left his bicycle in the 1000 block of Bass Point Road while he went swimming in the Bass Point Lake. When he got out of the lake he walked to where he had left his bicycle; he found a red bike that he observed a black male riding earlier abandoned, and his bicycle gone. The missing bicycle is valued at $200.00.

1515 hrs

A resident in the 1100 block of Starling Avenue noticed damage to two panes of impact glass in the master bedroom. The damage appears to have been made with a sharp pointy object that left cracks in the panes. There were no other signs of forced entry or damage to any other entry points of the residence.
