Multiple calls received on a bear(s) in the area of Lingletown Rd. and Colonial Road.

DATE: Wednesday April 6, 2011

Over the past two weeks, the Lower Paxton Twp. Police Department has received several calls from residents that they have seen a bear. Sightings have been in the Forest Hills sub-division in the 2400 block of E. Bayberry Dr., 4000 block of Greystone Dr. and the 2500 block of Tiffany Lane and as far south and east as the 800 block of Colonial Club Dr. Residents should remove food sources around their homes, especially bird feeders and uncovered garbage cans, and the bears will most likely not return. The bears are simply looking for a meal and they tend to linger in areas where food is readily available.
