LAPD Olympic Division has an important message. Recent burglaries and car thefts have occurred near you.

On March 25, 2011 at approximately 1130 AM, a prowler suspect was seen attempting to break into a residence in the 300 block of North Beachwood Drive. The suspect, an African American, approximately 30 years-of-age, was seen by a neighbor who interrupted the break-in. The suspect fled on foot prior to police arrival. A white Lexus was seen in the area at the time of the crime.

There have been other vehicle thefts and attempted burglaries in the area.

Residents are reminded to call the police whenever they see someone suspicious, who could be involved in property crimes.

Do not leave valuables inside of your car. Car thieves and burglars target vehicles with valuable electronic devices such as IPOD's, cell phones or GPS devices.

Olympic Detectives have a special unit that focuses on Property Crimes. Officers will respond and attempt to recover physical evidence that could identify these suspect(s).
