DEARBORN POLICE ARREST ONE IN ROBBERY HOMICIDE


Dearborn, Mi. On March 18, 2011 at approximately 11:00 A.M. Dearborn Police arrested a male suspect wanted in the robbery and homicide of Mr. Jay Shin that occurred at Sunrise Beauty supply located at 4920 Schaefer in the City of Dearborn. Police also indicate they believe they have located the suspected vehicle and that the suspects had obtained it by way of an armed carjacking in Detroit. Chief Ronald Haddad stated, “the community was instrumental in providing valuable leads in this investigation. Additionally, the Dearborn Police Department worked tirelessly with the U.S. Marshalls and members of the Detroit Police Department in the arrest of this suspect”.

It is anticipated that the arrested suspect will be arraigned in the 19th District Court pending review by the Prosecutor’s Office, after which more information on arrested suspect can be released. At present, Police are continuing to actively investigate all leads and continue to ask for the public’s assistance in locating additional suspects involved in the robbery and homicide. Taken in the robbery were approximately 80 assorted colors of “Velvet Remi” brand hair extensions valued between $120.00 and $135.00 each.
