INCIDENT: DUI Enforcement for St. Patrick’s Day
DATE: March 17, 2011
The Marietta Police Department’s Selective Traffic Enforcement Program (S.T.E.P) would like to reminder drivers of the seriousness of drinking and driving for the upcoming celebrations for St. Patrick’s Day. The Marietta Police S.T.E.P. Unit and Uniform Patrol Division will be conducting intense patrols for drunk and impaired drivers on March 17-18, 2011.
The Marietta Police S.T.E.P. Unit would like to encourage drivers that are planning to attend St. Patrick Day celebrations to have a pre-arranged plan for alternative methods of transportation whether it be designating a sober driver or utilizing a local taxi service. Such plans need to be in place to avoid the risk of be involved in a serious accident that may cause severe injury or death.
The Marietta Police Department has a Zero Tolerance for driving while impaired and if you drink and drive, you WILL go to jail.
