Carteret Man Arrested for Shoplifting

On 03/11/2011, 9:31 am Detective Marcos Valera observed Mr. Celilio Ruiz walking east bound on the south sidewalk of New Brunswick Ave. the Detective knew that Mr. Ruiz had an active warrant out of Perth Amboy Municipal Court. Ruiz had several items from the Dollar General store. Detectives confirmed that the items were stolen. Defendant was arrested and bail was set by Honorable Judge Emery Toth at $7,500 no 10%.

Man Arrested for presenting a Fraudulent Insurance Card.

On 03/12/2011, 4:13 pm while on patrol Police Officer Joseph Sulikowski observed a white Honda Civic in the side parking lot of the Patten School, 500 Charles St., doing a “burn out”. The vehicle was stopped and the driver, identified as Pedro Gonzalez, presented an insurance card that was expired. Police checked and found that the policy had expired in 2006. Gonzalez was arrested for having a Fraudulent Insurance Card. Gonzalez was arrested and released on a summons.

Burglary Reported at 724 Catherine St.

On 03/14/2011, police were sent to 724 Catherine St. for the reported burglary. Victim reported, that she left her home at 9:30 am, 03/14/2011 when she returned at 1:00 pm, 03/14/2011 discovered the first floor front inner door locked. She stated that she only locked the exterior door. When she entered the first floor she discovered that her bedroom door had been forced open. It also appeared that someone had been through her closet and nightstand. She stated that nothing appeared to be missing at this time. She continued to check the first and second floor and did not notice any other property damage or items missing.
