Do you have unused or expired medications in your home?

The Pasco Sheriff’s Office and Pasco County Alliance for Substance Abuse Prevention (ASAP) are participating in a pharmaceutical take-back initiative where community members can drop off unused or expired prescription medications for safe disposal.

The Pill Drop is scheduled on Saturday, March 19, 2011 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at two locations in east and west Pasco. Citizens can simply drive up, drop off the unwanted medication, and drive away. No personal information is needed or will be requested. The Sheriff’s Office will then properly dispose of the medications. This prevents unwanted drugs from being flushed away or thrown in the garbage, which can end up in the county dump and in our water supply.

The two locations for the Pill Drop are:

Gulf View Square Mall
9409 Us Highway 19, Suite 781
Port Richey, FL 34668
Overflow parking lot near the sign on US 19

The Shops at WireGrass
28211 Paseo Drive
Wesley Chapel, FL 33543
Parking Garage Ground Level

What to bring to the Pill Drop:
• Expired or unwanted prescriptions and medicine
• Vitamins & Herbals
• Veterinary medications
• Over-the-counter medications
• Needles
