Twice a year the batteries in your somke detectors and carbon monixide detectors need to be changed. The Chappaqua Fire Department recommends that this be done when you change your clocks both in the spring and the fall. Smoke detectors older 7-10 years old need to be replaced and carbon monoxide detectors older than 5 years old need to be replaced.
