At about 10:31, Wednesday morning, Sheriff’s Transit Services Bureau deputies responded to Verdugo Road and Eagle Rock Boulevard, Glassell Park, regarding a shooting onboard a Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) bus.

The 18-year old Hispanic suspect, Mark Martinez, was arguing with the 31-year old Hispanic male victim, when he allegedly shot the victim several times and fled. Martinez was located a short distance away and detained by officers with the Los Angeles Police Department.

The victim was transported to a local hospital where he is expected to survive his wounds.

Martinez was arrested and booked by Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department Transit Services Bureau deputies for Attempted Murder.
