Bank robber captured by LPD while trying to flee the scene.

At 2:20 PM a male suspect armed with a handgun entered the Wells Fargo Bank at 50th and Quaker and announced he was robbing the bank. The suspect was able to obtain an undisclosed amount of currency and fled the bank in a silver Ford Mustang. Several people who were in the bank at the time were able to call 911 and a witness reported a vehicle description. LPD robbery detectives were nearby and located the suspect vehicle at 66th and Indiana. The suspect fled from detectives before they could attempt a traffic stop and a vehicle pursuit ensued. The suspect attempted to evade officers at high speeds for several minutes in the city before he left the city traveling south where the LPD received assistance from the LSO and DPS. After entering Lynn County, the suspect’s vehicle was disabled by tire spikes and he ran from officers on foot. He was quickly taken into custody by pursuing officers. The suspect was arrested and has been identified as Graciano Quezada, 35. He will be arraigned in Lynn County before being transported back to Lubbock. Exact charges have not been determined at this time.
