ATTENTION RESIDENTS, EMPLOYEES, BUSINESSES, CUSTOMERS AND/OR VISITORS
What: Metro contractors will be conducting exploratory drilling to collect soil samples as a part of the preliminary engineering for the proposed Crenshaw/LAX Transit Corridor Project. Collecting soil samples is essential to assess subsurface conditions necessary for trackway, station structure and tunnel design criteria associated with a Light Rail Transit (LRT) line.

When and Where:

Feb 14 – 28, 2011, 9:00am-4:00pm; Median of Crenshaw Bl between Rodeo Rd and W 39th St.

Mar 1 – 31, 2011, 9:00am-4:00pm; Median of Crenshaw Bl between W 39th St and Slauson Av.

Mar 14 – April 30, 2011, 9:00am-4:00pm; Median of Crenshaw Bl between Slauson Av to W 67th St.

What to Expect:

Three crews may be expected on site to operate drill rigs with truck and support vehicles. Additional crew vehicles will be parked in legal street parking.
Intermittent traffic delays may occur on Crenshaw Boulevard in one lane of traffic and the left turn pocket and median lane where required while work is taking place. Noise and minimal vibration from drilling.
Lanes will be cleared at the end of the work period and re-opened for regular use.
Soil samples will be removed and sent to a lab for analysis.
Other Important Information:

Work has received necessary permits and approvals.
Actual drilling will fall within times dictated by permit with the Cities of Los Angeles and Inglewood. Crews may be on-site outside of the drilling time period to prepare for or conclude work activities.
