A kidnapping that had just occurred on the 3500 block of Apollo Place was reported to Palmdale Sheriff's Station deputies Saturday at about 3:45PM.

Deputies soon arrived and were told by a citizen that a female was forced into a car by a male, later identified as the suspect. Deputies soon determined the man was the estranged father of the woman's child.

Further investigation revealed the woman had recently served 23-year old Suspect Sergio Ramirez, a resident of Palmdale, with a child custody court order. Family members of the woman further told deputies there had been previous unreported domestic violence incidents between the victim and the suspect.

The investigation led deputies to believe the suspect and kidnapped woman were in the Santa Clarita area. Santa Clarita Sheriff's Station deputies were notified of the kidnapping as well as the vehicle the suspect was believed to be driving.

A deputy spotted the vehicle in the parking lot of a motel in Santa Clarita. The suspect was taken into custody and the female victim was found to have minor injuries. The suspect was arrested for Spousal Assault and Kidnapping and is being held on $100,000.00 bail at Palmdale Sheriff's Station, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
