BURGLARY ARRESTS

Two individuals have been arrested and charged with burglary related offenses, according to Sheriff Todd Entrekin.
“Jeffrey Maloy Evans, 18, of Coates Bend, has been arrested and charged with first degree theft of property, second degree theft of property and third degree burglary, all are felonies,” states Investigator Chad Langdale.
“Brandon Nicholas Jones, 19, of Coates Bend, has been arrested and charged with first degree theft of property, two counts of second degree theft of property and third degree burglary, all are felonies, states Investigator Captain Jeff Hopper.
Evans and Jones have allegedly been involved in several burglaries that occurred in the Coates Bend community. These arrests are in connection to the arrests of Christopher Davis and Andrew Power Ragan.
The incidents related to the above charges happened on December 7th and January 20th.
Approximately 15 reported burglaries have occurred in the Coates Bend community since November 2010. Most of the thefts happened during the night while residents were away from their homes or at abandoned houses.
Evans and Jones are currently in the Etowah County Detention Center. Evans’s bond is set at $10,000. Jones’s bond is $12,500.
