National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Watch for Ocean County until 11:00 EST on 02-02-2011.

Event: Winter Storm Watch
Alert: ...WINTRY PRECIPITATION IS EXPECTED FROM TONIGHT INTO
WEDNESDAY...
LOW PRESSURE WILL MOVE FROM THE LOWER MISSISSIPPI RIVER VALLEY ON
TUESDAY TO THE UPPER OHIO RIVER VALLEY EARLY ON WEDNESDAY. THE LOW
IS THEN EXPECTED TO JUMP TO THE WATERS OFF NEW JERSEY ON WEDNESDAY
AFTERNOON BEFORE RACING TO THE NORTHEAST. THE WEATHER SYSTEM WILL
BRING A PROLONGED PERIOD OF WINTRY PRECIPITATION TO PARTS OF OUR
REGION FROM TONIGHT INTO WEDNESDAY.

WEDNESDAY MORNING.

* AREAS AFFECTED: EXTREME NORTHEASTERN MARYLAND, NORTHERN
DELAWARE, EXTREME SOUTHEASTERN PENNSYLVANIA, SOUTHWESTERN NEW
JERSEY AND THE NORTHERN PART OF THE NEW JERSEY COAST.

* PRECIPITATION TYPES: SNOW FROM LATE THIS EVENING INTO TUESDAY
MORNING, MIXING WITH OR CHANGING TO SLEET AND/OR RAIN ON TUESDAY
AFTERNOON. RAIN AND SLEET CHANGING TO FREEZING RAIN ON TUESDAY
NIGHT BEFORE GOING BACK TO RAIN ON WEDNESDAY MORNING.

* ACCUMULATIONS: AN INCH OR TWO OF SNOW WITH ISOLATED HIGHER
AMOUNTS FROM TONIGHT INTO TUESDAY. ICE ACCUMULATIONS OF UP TO
ONE TO TWO TENTHS OF AN INCH FROM TUESDAY NIGHT INTO WEDNESDAY
MORNING.

* TIMING: THE SNOW SHOULD BEGIN THIS EVENING BETWEEN 900 PM AND
MIDNIGHT. ANY ACCUMULATING SNOW SHOULD END BY LATE TUESDAY
MORNING. THE GREATEST POTENTIAL FOR AN ICE ACCUMULATION IS FROM
LATE TUESDAY EVENING THROUGH MID MORNING ON WEDNESDAY.

* IMPACTS: THE MORNING COMMUTE ON TUESDAY SHOULD BE AFFECTED BY
SNOW AND THE MORNING COMMUTE ON WEDNESDAY WILL LIKELY BE
AFFECTED BY ICE. IN BOTH CASES, TRAVEL CONDITIONS WILL BE LESS
THAN IDEAL. UNTREATED ROADS AND WALKWAYS WILL BECOME SLIPPERY.
IT APPEARS AS THOUGH THE EVENING COMMUTE TIMES ON BOTH TUESDAY
AND WEDNESDAY SHOULD NOT BE NEGATIVELY AFFECTED BY THE WEATHER.
